Beauty 2014 is well under way now and despite the inevitable January blues, things seem to be upbeat around which is very welcome. I had a busy Christmas with weddings galore between Christmas and New Years which took me right around Ireland in the midst of the worst weather we have seen for a while. The electricity went on us for one wedding which meant we had to do bridal makeup under candlelight! Once we got through those weddings, the bridal makeup scene tends to calm down for a while which has given me some time to focus and get ready for the 3 hour makeup courses that are now taking place in Cork, Killarney, Limerick and Galway. You might have seen the offer for these in Living Social. The Master Class makeup courses are an ideal opportunity for you to learn tips on the flawless face that we all strive for, and to accentuate your natural features. The Daily Mail reported last year that most women in their survey would spend up to 183 minutes a week applying makeup, and that 76 minutes of that could be for getting ready for their main night out. I am not saying this is bad thing, if anything it shows people take a pride in themselves, but apart from saving time, wouldnt it be nice to maximise what you get out of that time for yourself? There are new colours in vogue for 2014 and these of course are covered. So often we see the stars of Hollywood in killer outfits, but undone completely by bad makeup which could easily be avoided! Buying makeup can be a costly process by the time you finally arrive at your favourite and trustworthy products, so on the course we talk about buying makeup effectively with some ideal shopping tips. Like anything in life there are Dos and Donts same applies for makeup, and well cover this. In fact after the course you will be better equipped to: Buy the right makeup, Know what colours work for you, Apply the right makeup using the right tools. Apply foundation correctly Correct contouring of your face with the right bronzer How to move from daytime to evening time makeup If your thinking in terms of wedding makeup, or just want to look your best, my 3 hour makeup master class will be time and money very well spent. The courses all take place in a friendly environment where you get the chance to ask questions and seek advice during and after with Cork Independent Beauty Columnist, and makeup consultant Caroline Bourke. Come by yourself or with a friend or two. Its important to remember that learning how to apply your makeup properly will above all else help you achieve your best results each time with confidence, take the not knowing out of the equation and know the reasons why you can get it right each time.
